Education
I am a licensed Marriage Family Therapist graduated with Distinction from California State University, Northridge in 2000 with a Master of Science in Marriage Family and Child Counseling. I have my Bachelor degree in Linguistics from UCLA and speak fluent Mandarin, Taiwanese, English, and some Cantonese.
Experience With over a decade of experience in the field of counseling and psychotherapy, I worked as a mental health clinician at community-based and school-based counseling centers. I provided family therapy, individual and group therapy for children and teens in Inglewood, Garvey, Rosemead, and El Monte School Districts. I also conducted court-mandated parenting workshops, teen girls’ group, and ADHD children's social skills groups in Valley Trauma Center, Didi Hirsh Community Mental Health Center, and Foothill Family Service. Early in my training, I worked as a counselor, a crisis hotline worker, and an advocate in trauma center providing crisis intervention, psychoeduation, advocacy, and counseling services to survivors of sexual assaults and their families. Mission I always keep abreast with new research on therapeutic skills and approaches in order to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the therapy I provide. Everyone who comes to my practice receives genuine respect and professional insights, which help to facilitate the change and growth each individual desires. I enjoy working with all age groups: children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. My mission is to bring healing and hope to the wounded and to help people restore strengths and visions so they can enjoy their lives and fulfill their own missions. Personal Life I maintain a private practice in Arcadia. I have also served as a Children and Youth Sunday School teacher, Couple and Family Group Facilitator at churches. I love mountains and beaches. In my free time, I enjoy reading, swimming, hiking, and spending quality time with my family and friends. |
